A: Participants don’t have to be together to join the Live Coding Session. Each member will join the Google Meet session given by their team’s judge (through appointment set before Live Judging Session) with their camera turned ON. With that said, it is participants’ responsibility to prepare a PC with functional mic and camera (external ones are acceptable).

Each team need to prepare one robot (at least). Team leader/ student representative chosen by the team will have to “share entire screen” and take charge of programming and show the result through their robot to the team’s judge.

Discussion amongst team members (students ONLY) is allowed, without the use of communication device and/or external help from any other party.

Example: Student_A share his/her screen and attempt programming. Student_B and student_C can discuss with student_A and/or point out any mistakes they can find. Student_A has to modify his/her program, and is NOT allowed to use program done by other members (sent through any means). If student_C wants to take over programming role, he/she has to share entire screen and start doing the program again from the beginning.

A: CCC with rero:micro – rero:micro complete set, pen/ marker pen, blank papers

CCC with mindstorms EV3 – Pre-built EV3 Robot Educator (refer to R&R), Mindstorms Education EV3 software

CBC with build:bit – build:bit complete set (disassembled/ NOT constructed)

A: Yes, you are not allowed to bring in pre-built robot for this category.

Live Coding Session for CBC with build:bit category lasts for 45 minutes. Participants have to construct the robot (design of their choice) as well as completing all the tasks within that time frame.

NOTE: “completing tasks” means programming, downloading, and showing the result to the team’s judge. Also, it’s worth mentioning that robot’s construction yields NO score, only through successful completion of task(s) and proofing it to their judge will they earn corresponding scores tied to the tasks.

A: Participants are allowed to use Google Translate… Or, you can just ask your team judge. Our handsome/ adorable judges are able to translate or explain the questions in the three major languages (Malay, English, Mandarin).

A: It is perfectly fine if some member(s) can’t attend Live Coding Session. Your team needs only one member (at least) to attend and complete the challenges to earn scores.

A: Due date for “RBT Innovation Project” falls on 4th September. It is open to all students in Malaysia, make sure you complete the registration before due date to become a part of IRCC2021 National team!

In this category, participants are required to build a prototype project that fits the annual theme. For more information, please read our Official R&R at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZJdetfpADU1z4qfNtDFIDyvcalqXf9YK/view?usp=sharing, it contains all the necessary information regarding the category.

Once you have done with your competition required items i.e. poster, project report and video, you need to submit them to IRCC Organizing Committee for review and grading.
